PETIT COMBIN
The Petit Combin is a summit of the Pennine Alps, in Switzerland, located in the canton of Valais, which culminates at 3’668 m of altitude. Summit of the Combins massif located north of the Combin de Corbassière, it dominates the Entremont valley and the village of Bourg-Saint-Pierre to the west and the Corbassière glacier to the east. It is topped by a snow plateau 200 m wide and 300 m long. The north side is covered by the Petit Combin glacier.
GIANNADA FOUNDATION
The Pierre Gianadda Foundation is one of the most important art foundations in Switzerland. Since its inauguration in 1978 in Martigny, it has welcomed more than 10 million visitors and organized more than 140 historical retrospectives of painters such as Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Jean Fautrier, Wassily Kandinsky, Nicolas De Staël, Paul Gauguin, Gustave Klimt, Alberto Giacometti…Located in Martigny, the Pierre Gianadda Foundation also presents permanent exhibitions of Greek and Roman antiquities, a collection of old cars and photographs of artists.
BARRY MUSEUM
At the foot of the mythical Great St. Bernard Pass, next to the Roman amphitheater of Martigny, the museum dedicated to the St. Bernard dogs plunges you into the history of the legendary rescuer of the Alps. Created by the Bernard and Caroline de Watteville Foundation and taken over in 2014 by the Barry Foundation, this institution traces the rich past of the hospice and the pass.
